This is the home for Cub Scout Pack 236 news, event schedules and den information.
"Who are we?"
We are located east of Indianapolis in Mt. Comfort, Indiana and have been in continuous operation since being chartered by Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church in 1978. In association with the Northeast District of the Crossroads of America Council, the pack provides a great year-round, family-centered program for boys in first through fifth grades.
Most of our members attend Mt. Comfort Elementary School and Mt. Vernon Intermediate School, but all boys from the surrounding area are welcome. Parents, leaders and the scouting organization work together to achieve the following goals:
- Influence the development of character and encourage spiritual growth
- Develop habits and attitudes of good citizenship

Encourage good sportsmanship and pride in growing strong in mind and body
- Improve understanding within the family

Strengthen the ability to get along with other boys and respect for other people

Foster a sense of personal achievement by developing new interests and skills
- Show how to be helpful and do one’s best
- Provide fun and exciting things to do
- Prepare them to become boy scouts
"What are we?"
Each grade level works on age-appropriate activities to achieve their rank. The ranks are:
- 1st Grade - Tiger cub
- 2nd Grade - Wolf Cub Scout
- 3rd Grade - Bear Cub Scout
- 4th and 5th Grade - Webelos Scout
All brand new scout must achieve the rank of Bobcat before working on their own age appropriate rank. Following the completion of the Webelos program in the 5th grade, the Cub Scout earns the highest rank in Cub Scouts, the Arrow of Light and then may graduate into Boy Scout Troop 236.
Each Den meets about twice a month and the entire Pack meets once a month (usually the third Wednesday of each month) from August through May. Various field trips and other activities are planned from time to time.
